Job Description:

As a Web Developer at Prophix, you will manage and maintain the back end of our Craft CMS website. You will leverage your knowledge of PHP, CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, and Front/Back end development to ensure the website’s performance, functionality, and security are optimal. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders and team members to continuously improve the site’s functionality and user experience. You will report directly to the Web Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance: Monitor, update, and maintain both the frontend and backend of the Craft CMS website to ensure functionality, security, and performance.
  • Content Management: Manage and update website content (text, images, multimedia) using Craft CMS, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all pages.
  • Plugin & Module Management: Install, configure, and manage plugins and modules to enhance website functionality.
  • Custom Development: Implement custom solutions and develop features using PHP, CSS, HTML5, and JavaScript.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and debugging to identify and resolve website issues, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize website performance, including improving page load times and implementing SEO and accessibility best practices.
  • A/B Testing: Implement A/B tests, analyze data, and make recommendations for optimization based on performance insights.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation on website updates and provide training to team members on website management tasks.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, content creators) and communicate effectively with stakeholders on website status and project timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of web development and management experience.
  • Skills:
    • Intermediate knowledge of PHP, CSS, HTML5, and JavaScript.
    • Proficiency in Craft CMS or similar CMS platforms.
    • Experience with Bootstrap and version control systems (e.g., Git).
    • Familiarity with A/B testing and multivariant testing methodologies.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
    • Understanding of web accessibility standards and SEO principles.
    • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of financial/accounting software.
  • Familiarity with Vidyard, Eloqua, Drift, Chilipiper, Smartling, Salesforce.com, and PPC.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an eye for quality.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
