🚦 Role Overview

We’re seeking a System Engineer to operate our system control center and ensure seamless performance across mission-critical automation platforms. This role is central to troubleshooting, continuous improvement (CI), and cross-functional collaboration—supporting both customer and internal teams to maintain world-class operational standards.

🧑‍💻 Key Responsibilities

• Monitor health and performance of automation subsystems: robotic vehicles, vertical lifts, and adapters
• Troubleshoot advanced system and operational issues
• Communicate technical issues clearly to internal teams and client stakeholders
• Document and escalate issues to engineering, and support resolution efforts
• Train site operators on full system operations and IT troubleshooting
• Step in as needed to support critical on-site functions
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve production-impacting challenges
• Drive CI initiatives in a dynamic warehouse environment
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and Symbotic/customer safety protocols

🧰 Technical Skills & Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Software/Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• ✅ 2+ years working with automated systems in a high-volume or mission-critical setting
• 💻 Hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), robotics (ABB), SQL, Linux, Python
• 🛠 Strong mechanical aptitude with robotic/electro-mechanical systems
• 🧠 Ability to remain agile under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities
• 🤝 High sense of urgency and a strong collaborative mindset

🧭 Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required for travel to client sites
• Must manage expenses via company reimbursement process
• Ability to work at heights (up to 45 ft), in confined areas (24 in.), and lift/move up to 50 lbs
• Will regularly climb stairs, navigate structures, and be exposed to varying temperatures (32°F to 105°F)
• PPE required on construction or hazardous sites (hard hat, safety vest, fall protection, etc.)
