🚦 Role Overview
We’re seeking a System Engineer to operate our system control center and ensure seamless performance across mission-critical automation platforms. This role is central to troubleshooting, continuous improvement (CI), and cross-functional collaboration—supporting both customer and internal teams to maintain world-class operational standards.
🧑💻 Key Responsibilities
- Monitor health and performance of automation subsystems: robotic vehicles, vertical lifts, and adapters
- Troubleshoot advanced system and operational issues
- Communicate technical issues clearly to internal teams and client stakeholders
- Document and escalate issues to engineering, and support resolution efforts
- Train site operators on full system operations and IT troubleshooting
- Step in as needed to support critical on-site functions
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve production-impacting challenges
- Drive CI initiatives in a dynamic warehouse environment
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and Symbotic/customer safety protocols
🧰 Technical Skills & Qualifications
- 🎓 Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Software/Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- ✅ 2+ years working with automated systems in a high-volume or mission-critical setting
- 💻 Hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), robotics (ABB), SQL, Linux, Python
- 🛠 Strong mechanical aptitude with robotic/electro-mechanical systems
- 🧠 Ability to remain agile under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities
- 🤝 High sense of urgency and a strong collaborative mindset
🧭 Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required for travel to client sites
- Must manage expenses via company reimbursement process
- Ability to work at heights (up to 45 ft), in confined areas (24 in.), and lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Will regularly climb stairs, navigate structures, and be exposed to varying temperatures (32°F to 105°F)
- PPE required on construction or hazardous sites (hard hat, safety vest, fall protection, etc.)
