Role Overview:
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Identity team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance systems related to authentication, authorization, and account management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust, secure, and scalable identity solutions that ensure the success of Pinterest’s platform.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design & Development: Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable backend systems for authentication, authorization, and account management.
Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and other teams to deliver high-quality, seamless identity solutions.
Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Code Reviews & Architecture: Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and contribute to the planning of the technical roadmap.

Qualifications:

Experience: 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on backend engineering.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
API Development: Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance systems.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, particularly in English, to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.

Work Environment:
This role supports flexible working arrangements through our PinFlex model, with in-office collaboration required 1-2 times per quarter. The role is open to candidates based anywhere in Mexico, with remote work options available.
