We’re looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to our cutting-edge AI code generation technologies. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing, scaling, and enhancing machine learning-driven features that power Atlassian’s ecosystem. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about AI, large language models (LLMs), and building robust systems with high impact.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve AI-based code generation using LLMs and modern AI frameworks.
- Lead and implement full life-cycle product development for Atlassian software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to enhance internal systems and product performance.
- Develop and maintain scalable distributed systems using Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript.
- Architect high-performance databases using PostgreSQL with a focus on scalability.
- Deploy and manage distributed services with observability in mind.
- Use logging/monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk) for diagnostics and service improvements.
- Document technical solutions through architecture diagrams and spec writing.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and contribute to Agile sprint planning.
- Suggest and implement measurable improvements to system reliability and performance.
🧠 Qualifications
📚 Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
👨💻 Minimum Experience
- 1.5+ years of hands-on software development, including:
- Building and maintaining production codebases.
- Implementing and improving machine learning-driven features.
- Experience using Git, AWS (SQS, S3, EC2).
- Frontend/backend frameworks such as React, Vue, and/or Fastify.
✅ Special Requirements
- Must successfully pass a technical interview.
💲 Compensation
- Annual Salary Range: $176,200 – $235,000 (USD)
