The Role
Join the Atlassian Data Center team as a DevOps Software Engineer, where you’ll help build and automate the infrastructure powering the world’s largest organizations. You’ll be embedded in the Instant Environments team, accelerating the performance of engineering, support, and migration operations through cloud-native DevOps solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- 🚀 Build robust, high-performing software to optimize the reliability and stability of our Instant Environments platform
- 🔄 Automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes
- 🌐 Manage production and non-production environments, observability systems, and disaster recovery solutions
- 📊 Work on performance monitoring, capacity engineering, configuration management, and CI/CD pipelines
- 🤝 Collaborate cross-functionally; stay humble, inquisitive, and action-driven in a team-first environment
Tech Stack & Requirements
✅ Languages & Scripting:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python web applications
- Strong scripting knowledge in Python and Bash
✅ Cloud & Infrastructure:
- 3+ years designing and operating AWS-native infrastructure
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
- Familiar with Kubernetes and Helm (2+ years)
✅ Tooling & DevOps:
- Proficient in Git and incident management in live environments
- Skilled in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration
- Practical understanding of observability (logging, metrics, tracing)
✅ Bonus Points For:
- Experience with React
- Familiarity with relational databases
🌍 English fluency (spoken & written) is a must.
