🧑‍💻 Role Overview

We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. This is not your standard development gig—you’ll help build and maintain the systems that keep Vendasta’s platform running reliably, securely, and at scale. If infrastructure resilience, system observability, and operational excellence are in your wheelhouse, you’re who we need.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

You’ll collaborate across engineering teams to deliver robust systems and eliminate manual ops work. Key areas of ownership include:

• Designing and optimizing reliable, high-performance infrastructure
• Enhancing system observability using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry
• Driving improvements in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices
• Leading incident response and postmortem processes with a focus on continual improvement
• Troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems and solving root causes
• Promoting SRE values and practices across the organization

🧠 What You Bring

You’re a detail-driven engineer with a strong operational mindset, able to bridge dev and ops with practical, scalable solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2–4 years in software development, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
• Proficiency in Golang, Python, Java, or similar languages
• Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), and container orchestration
• Solid understanding of system design, fault tolerance, and security best practices
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, ELK, Grafana)
• CI/CD automation experience using Git workflows and modern deployment strategies
• Strong collaboration and mentoring skills
• Understanding of SLOs, error budgets, and incident response methodologies

Nice-to-Haves:

• Contributions to open-source projects or SRE tooling
• Participation in reliability-focused communities
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
