🔍 About the Role
The Prediction & Behavior ML Team is at the forefront of developing machine learning (ML) algorithms that drive the behavior of autonomous vehicles. Our models learn from vast data sets to predict and influence vehicle movements both in real-time and within simulation environments.
As a Senior/Staff ML Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing foundation models and generative driving scenarios that enhance our vehicle’s ability to navigate complex urban settings. This role involves close collaboration with teams across Perception, Planning, Simulation, and Systems Engineering to improve driving performance.
🚀 What You’ll Do
✅ Develop multimodal foundation models to serve as the backbone for various ML tasks in autonomous driving.
✅ Design cutting-edge algorithms to generate realistic and diverse driving scenarios for simulation and validation.
✅ Utilize large-scale ML infrastructure to push the boundaries of innovation in self-driving technology.
✅ Collaborate with Perception, Planning, and Simulation teams to refine autonomous vehicle behavior in urban environments.
🎯 What You Bring
✔️ Education: BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
✔️ Experience in training and deploying Deep Learning models.
✔️ Proficiency in Machine Learning pipelines, including dataset creation, training frameworks, and metrics.
✔️ Strong coding skills in C++ or Python (with basic C++ understanding).
✔️ Expertise in programming, algorithm design, and mathematics.
⭐ Bonus Points
➕ Published research in Machine Learning or Robotics.
➕ Experience in autonomous vehicles, prediction models, or robotics.
➕ Hands-on experience with multimodal foundation models and generative models.
➕ Background in Reinforcement Learning.
💰 Compensation & Benefits
💲 Salary Range: $221,000 – $319,000 (dependent on experience & location)
