We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Deployment Infrastructure team, with a focus on building highly automated, resilient deployment systems to support Reddit’s growing global platform.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain software systems that automate the deployment of services across Reddit’s multi-region infrastructure. You will:

• Build and maintain custom deployment systems capable of handling global rollouts and automated rollback.
• Develop robust tooling for orchestrating complex workflows, including failure detection and service health monitoring.
• Create CLI tools and developer interfaces (primarily in Go) to support frictionless deployments.
• Work closely with Reddit engineers to gather deployment needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Integrate and, when necessary, contribute to open-source CNCF tooling (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux, Temporal).
• Troubleshoot deployment issues at both orchestration and runtime levels.
• Share in the on-call rotation to ensure deployment reliability and incident response.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build consensus, scope projects, and define the future of Reddit’s deployment architecture.

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure software engineering, especially within deployment automation.
• Proficient in Go (preferred), Rust, or Python.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes and distributed systems operations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Argo, Flux, Temporal) and modern DevOps workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to design and scale complex systems.
• Excellent debugging and system-level troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

• Base Salary Range: $190,800 – $267,100 USD
