About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Deployment to join our Deployment Infrastructure Team and build robust, automated deployment systems that balance reliability and efficiency.

At Reddit, we deploy services globally, ensuring smooth release workflows and automatic rollback of unsuccessful deployments. Unlike traditional operations teams, we build our own custom software solutions and integrate open-source tools to scale with our growing infrastructure needs.

🔹 Your Mission: Create deployment systems that are efficient, automated, and self-healing!

What You’ll Do

✅ Design and develop software for:

• Orchestrating complex deployment workflows
• Progressively rolling out services globally
• Automating rollback of failed deployments
• Monitoring and optimizing deployment health

✅ Collaborate with end-users to define requirements and develop solutions.
✅ Integrate and contribute to open-source tools within the CNCF ecosystem.
✅ Build end-user tooling (e.g., CLI utilities in Go) to enhance developer interaction.
✅ Participate in on-call rotations for deployment infrastructure support.

What You Bring

🎯 Experience & Skills:

• 5+ years in infrastructure and/or deployment engineering, with a focus on software engineering (not just system operations).
• Proficiency in Go (Preferred), Rust, or Python.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes or similar distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Continuous Delivery (CD) tools (e.g., Argo, Flux, Temporal).
• Expertise in troubleshooting deployment and orchestration challenges.
• Ability to design large-scale systems, scope work, and collaborate with teams.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a service-oriented environment.

💰 Compensation & Pay Transparency

💲 Base Salary Range: $190,800 – $267,100 USD
💼 Additional Compensation: Eligible for Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) & potential commission.
