🛠️ Role Overview
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Ads Contextual Intelligence (ACI) team, you will play a key role in building the algorithms and models that power Reddit’s advertising capabilities. This includes developing and iterating on NLP models, working with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of machine learning systems. You’ll work closely with business teams to translate requirements into actionable technical solutions, helping improve marketplace efficiency and provide valuable Business Intelligence insights.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance NLP algorithms and models (e.g., NER, text classification, text embedding models) for advertising applications.
- Build data processing pipelines and APIs to make contextual signals available.
- Assist with integrating contextual signals into downstream models like Ad Targeting and Ad Ranking.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of ML systems through automated tests, monitoring, and best practices.
- Conduct modeling and code reviews, providing feedback to maintain quality and performance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
🎯 Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with the full lifecycle of model development: design, training, evaluation, testing, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience in building NLP models and scaling them.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- A passion for working with data and analyzing behind the metrics.
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in tech leadership, mentoring junior engineers and leading complex projects.
- Familiarity with the following stack: Python, Golang, Airflow, BigQuery, Ray, k8s, Kafka, GCP/AWS.
- Knowledge of Ads domain, Search, or Recommender systems.
- Hands-on experience with fine-tuning and building Large Language Models (LLMs).
