๐Ÿง  The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering efforts for the Core Value & Engagement (CV&E) Product Area within CoreX Studio. This team is focused on enhancing the main user-facing mobile app to improve engagement and eliminate friction in the user journey. The CV&E area includes 4 squads with 40+ engineers across EMEA.


๐Ÿ”ง What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership across all squads in the CV&E product area.
  • Champion a dual-track delivery approach (Discovery + Execution) to drive innovation and maintain high-quality user experiences.
  • Partner with senior Product, Design, and Insights leaders to define the technical roadmap and product vision for core Spotify engagement features.
  • Mentor and develop Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Lead the charge in Spotifyโ€™s social investment strategy, ensuring platform-wide alignment with user engagement goals.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software releases that delight users.
  • Represent engineering across the wider Spotify organization, influencing technical direction and stakeholder alignment.

๐ŸŽฏ What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading managers of managers in consumer-facing software organizations.
  • Background in building mobile or web applications with strong emphasis on end-user experience and technical excellence.
  • Prior hands-on engineering experience with an ability to dive deep when necessary.
  • Experience collaborating across Product, Design, and Data/Insights functions in an Agile environment.
  • Skilled in balancing product ambition with engineering sustainability and quality.
  • Passionate about user engagement, performance, and system reliability.
  • Track record of delivering large-scale, complex digital initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with legacy system modernization is a plus.
