About the Role
As a Senior Data Architect at Kyruus Health, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the architecture of our data platform. You will provide strategic guidance on data management across products and services, design and implement a data mesh architecture, and collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data solutions. Additionally, you will drive best practices for coding, security, and performance optimization across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Development: Provide architectural guidance to teams on how to effectively work with and manage the data platform. Influence the technology strategy through direct engagement with C-suite executives and department heads.
- Data Mesh Enablement: Design and implement a domain-driven approach for securely storing, accessing, and managing data with centralized governance.
- System Architecture & Best Practices: Establish and enforce best practices for development, testing, security, and performance optimization. Drive continuous improvements in architecture for better scalability and reliability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams, DevOps, and QA to ensure smooth integrations and alignment on project goals. Communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership.
- Quality & Performance: Ensure the data platform is highly available and reliable. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems.
- Risk Management: Assess risks in technical decisions and project planning, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards like SOC2, HiTrust, and HIPAA.
What Youβll Bring
- Experience:
- 12+ years in software engineering, with hands-on experience in building, scaling, and maintaining data systems.
- 5+ years as a tech lead, converting business and product requirements into well-architected data solutions.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in building large-scale data pipelines, including real-time processing and handling 100+ GB transformations (Java, Python, DBT, SQL).
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, PowerBI, or Tableau.
- In-depth knowledge of data technology stacks (e.g., GCP BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong skills in data governance, RESTful API design, microservices architecture, CI/CD, containerization, and performance optimization.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence teams and articulate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Healthcare Industry Experience: Familiarity with the healthcare ecosystem, including data security compliance and EHR integrations (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Data Contracts: Experience with implementing and managing data contracts.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Pay Range: $160,000 – $180,000/year
- Other Compensation: Eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and benefits.
