About the Role
Join our Central AI organization, a key part of the Atlassian Intelligence program, aimed at accelerating AI innovation across all products and platforms. As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and analytics, to integrate AI capabilities into Atlassian products and services. Your responsibilities will span architecture design, model training, rigorous experimentation, and model evaluation, as well as mentoring junior machine learning engineers. This role is crucial to ensuring AI’s transformative impact across our offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Learning Development: Lead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms and models to enhance product features.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to integrate AI functionalities seamlessly across Atlassian products.
- Architecture Design: Design system and model architectures that drive innovation and scalability in AI services.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to emerging machine learning engineers, fostering skill development and best practices.
- Experimentation & Evaluation: Conduct thorough experimentation and model evaluations to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- AI Infrastructure: Help build and maintain the foundational infrastructure for AI at Atlassian, promoting efficient, integrated AI capabilities across teams.
Compensation
At Atlassian, we prioritize equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation. The base pay for this role is determined based on your location, expertise, and experience. Below are the pay ranges for different geographic zones:
- Zone A: $229,200 – $305,600
- Zone B: $206,300 – $275,100
- Zone C: $190,300 – $253,700
