🚀 Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced MLOps Engineer II to join our Machine Learning Platform team. This team builds the internal ML infrastructure to empower data scientists across Tripadvisor—driving smarter, faster, and more scalable data-driven innovation.

As an MLOps Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of ML, DevOps, and platform engineering—helping shape the future of machine learning operations at scale. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering culture that emphasizes end-to-end ownership, technical curiosity, and speed to value.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain components across the MLOps stack using Python, Java, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Apache Spark, MLFlow, and more
  • Collaborate with Data Science teams to define and implement ML model deployment pipelines
  • Lead development of CI/CD workflows for ML models using Argo Workflows and GitOps practices
  • Own the infrastructure for ML tracking, deployment, and monitoring using tools like Seldon, MLFlow, and AWS services
  • Migrate and optimize platform components in AWS cloud environments
  • Ensure robustness, scalability, and maintainability across ML infrastructure
  • Write high-quality, testable, and efficient code
  • Collaborate across UI, backend, data engineering, and operations to ensure seamless ML model lifecycle integration
  • Take responsibility for QA, performance tuning, and production support
  • Drive technical improvements and best practices across the ML platform

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on engineering experience
  • 5+ years of commercial software development experience
  • Proven experience in Python and/or Java programming
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions
  • Sense of ownership and pride in delivering production-grade systems
  • Growth mindset and openness to learning new tools and technologies

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Argo Workflows, ArgoCD, MLFlow, Seldon, Apache Spark
  • Hands-on with AWS ML and data infrastructure services (S3, SageMaker, EKS, EMR)
  • Prior experience in MLOps, ML infrastructure, or Data Engineering
  • Familiarity with modern software engineering practices (Agile, GitOps, IaC)
  • Exposure to machine learning lifecycle and collaboration with Data Science teams
