Role Overview

Expedia Group’s Technology Team collaborates with Product Teams to design tools and services that deliver high-quality experiences for travelers and partners. As a Full Stack Software Development Engineer III – Back End, you’ll play a pivotal role in building scalable and intelligent travel assistance platforms. Working with state-of-the-art technologies like Large Language Models, Java, AWS, and more, you’ll develop solutions to meet traveler needs across various channels (social, SMS, web, or voice).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, high-performance code for distributed messaging environments.
• Investigate and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Lead refactoring efforts to continuously improve the codebase.
• Collaborate with TPMs, Product Managers, and Engineers of diverse technical backgrounds to build robust solutions.
• Cross organizational boundaries to solve integrated challenges with other tech teams.

• Java, AWS, Kafka, Node.js, Kotlin, React, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, S3, Lambda, Docker, and Data Dog.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing solid code in Java.
  • Proven expertise in real-time distributed computing problems.
  • Experience with AWS, Lambda, and NoSQL databases.
• Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of Java, distributed systems, and web technologies.
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly research and resolve technical issues.
• Personal Attributes:
  • Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks.
  • Flexible to accommodate working hours for a globally distributed team.
