π‘ About the Role
Deloitte is seeking a highly skilled Graph Database Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering practice under the Core Business Operations (CBO) portfolio. This role is focused on enabling mission-critical intelligence through advanced graph data solutions. You’ll be on the frontlines of shaping connected data strategies, driving innovation, and building enterprise-grade cloud platforms for government and public sector clients.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement graph data models aligned with business and domain requirements
- Develop and optimize graph queries using languages like Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL, etc.
- Design and build applications that leverage graph technology for pattern recognition and relationship analysis
- Ensure high-performance and scalable graph database operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineers, solution architects, cloud developers)
- Lead discussions on architecture design and data integration strategies
- Evaluate emerging graph tech and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions
- Document schemas, workflows, and database architecture standards
- Promote best practices in graph modeling and querying techniques
- Analyze and improve query performance and resource efficiency
π§ Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Active TS/SCI government security clearance
- 2+ years of professional software development experience
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
π Preferred Skills & Expertise
- Solid foundation in graph theory: nodes, edges, traversals, etc.
- Proficiency in graph query languages (Cypher, Gremlin, SPARQL, GraphQL)
- Experience in advanced data modeling (RDF triples, property graphs, ontologies)
- Strong grasp of graph algorithms: centrality, path finding, clustering, etc.
- Knowledge of ACID transactions and data integrity in graph environments
- Hands-on experience with graph visualization tools (D3.js, Gephi, KeyLines)
- Performance tuning: indexing, caching, and query optimization
- Systems integration using APIs, microservices, ETL/ELT pipelines
- Data migration and processing of large graph data sets
