Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer II to join our platform engineering teams. In this role, you will be responsible for building robust frameworks and features that enable both developers and users. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to create innovative Android solutions. You will also have the opportunity to propose and lead initiatives from inception to release, solving unique challenges along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

Core App Excellence: Support millions of users by ensuring the quality of core components shared throughout the application.
Problem-Solving: Identify and address app-wide challenges, propose solutions, and implement them in the app.
Feature Enhancement: Drive improvements in the app, such as modularization, image/video loading, RTL text, dependency injection, and reusable UI components.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product teams, and designers to integrate new technologies and features into the app.
User Experience: Tackle user pain points such as performance issues, crash rates, and metric anomalies.
Continuous Growth: Work on high-impact projects with world-class engineers and continue growing your skills.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in Android application development, particularly with consumer or business-facing products.
Strong expertise in Android development best practices using Kotlin and/or Java, including Activity Lifecycle and memory management.
Experience writing reliable and maintainable code used by multiple engineers.
Ability to stay updated with new technologies and incorporate them into the development process.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Information:

In-office Requirement: This role requires in-person collaboration 1-2 times per quarter, with flexibility for remote work.
Location: This position is open to candidates based in Mexico City or other locations within the country.
