Are you a curious and driven MSc or PhD student with a passion for Generative AI (GenAI) and semiconductor technology? Join Pragmatic Semiconductor for a unique internship opportunity to develop and deploy LLM-powered applications in a real-world chip development and production environment.

You’ll be immersed in a hands-on, cross-functional project aimed at leveraging advanced machine learning (ML) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to drive insights and automation in chip manufacturing processes.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Develop RAG Pipelines: Design and build ingestion systems to process technical documentation, logs, and datasets from chip development environments.
• Integrate Vector Databases: Implement efficient search and embedding retrieval strategies using vector databases.
• Model Development: Utilize and fine-tune open-source GenAI and LLM tools to extract relevant insights from domain-specific data.
• Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with engineers and data scientists to validate outputs and tailor solutions for chip production needs.
• Insight Generation: Build inference tools to identify anomalies, extract process trends, and forecast operational issues.
• Benchmark & Validate: Evaluate model accuracy, performance, and alignment with business goals.
• Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of progress, methodologies, and outcomes. Present findings to internal stakeholders.
• Demo Delivery: Showcase the proof-of-concept in a live demonstration, communicating technical results to non-technical audiences.

🎓 Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in:
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Machine Learning
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Or a closely related technical field

🛠 Essential Skills

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Proficient in data manipulation using Pandas and NumPy
• Exposure to LLMs and NLP frameworks
• Familiarity with RAG architectures and vector embeddings

➕ Desirable Skills

• Hands-on experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar)
• Experience with chip design environments or manufacturing data workflows
