Team Overview

The Markets & Subscriptions team is responsible for overseeing the entire user journey on Spotify, ensuring an engaging and personalized experience for users at every touchpoint. By collaborating across research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing, we are able to quickly create impactful features and services that foster long-term relationships with millions of Spotify users.


Role Overview

We are looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join a cross-functional team of data scientists, engineers (mobile, web, and backend), and product managers. Your mission will be to create personalized user flows and experiences, helping users discover new features and get the most out of their Spotify subscription. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on Spotify’s growth by reaching new users, markets, and audiences, using innovation and experimentation to solve real user problems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Decisions: Drive key architectural decisions across the entire stack (client, backend, data, quality).
  • Hands-on Development: Work on both backend and frontend tasks, delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Best Practices: Collaborate with team members to adopt best practices and improve solution quality.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Implement a data-first approach, focusing on producing and analyzing high-quality data from user interactions and leveraging experimentation to evaluate new features’ impact.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineers, data scientists, product managers, and designers within agile teams to build new product features.
  • Mentorship: Continue developing your own skills while mentoring your peers to enhance team performance.

Who You Are

  • Backend Expertise: Experienced in designing and delivering backend applications using Java.
  • Frontend Proficiency: Knowledgeable in developing web applications using React, TypeScript, and NextJS.
  • Growth Mindset: Curious, experimental, and always looking to improve yourself and your team.
  • Agile Advocate: Passionate about agile software development and continuous learning.
  • Problem-Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate your ideas.
  • Bonus: Experience with Conversion and Retention is a plus.

Location & Work Flexibility

  • This role is based in London or Stockholm.
