🧠 The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior ML Architect Contractor, you’ll provide expert-level strategic input into designing and operationalizing machine learning architectures across Backblaze’s infrastructure. You’ll play a critical role in bridging experimentation and production, enabling seamless deployment of ML capabilities.
🚀 Key Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable and efficient ML pipelines optimized for production deployment.
- Collaborate with app and data engineering teams to ensure smooth, end-to-end data flow supporting ML initiatives.
- Facilitate the transition of anomaly detection models from R&D into live environments.
- Advise on integrating Snowflake into ML workflows for data orchestration and infrastructure efficiency.
- Provide technical mentorship to interns and junior team members on ML best practices.
- Champion ML lifecycle best practices: logging, monitoring, versioning, and ongoing performance tuning.
📌 Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience designing ML architectures for high-scale production systems.
- Deep familiarity with Snowflake for data warehousing and ML optimization.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with leading ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.
- Solid grasp of model deployment, performance tuning, and infrastructure design.
- Effective communicator with a track record of mentoring ML and data science teams.
