🧩 About the Role

Grafana Labs is on the hunt for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Grafana Drilldown team. Your mission? Build, inspire, and support a high-performing distributed engineering team focused on creating seamless, queryless telemetry experiences across observability tools like Mimir, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope.

This is a people-first leadership role—one that requires high EQ, strong technical fluency, and relentless operational discipline.

👥 Your Core Responsibilities

• 🔄 Conduct regular 1:1s to ensure engineers are motivated, aligned, and high-impact.

• 🧭 Provide career mentorship, promote psychological safety, and nurture team autonomy.

• 📦 Drive project delivery: goal-setting, milestone planning, and dependency management.

• 🧠 Participate in technical discussions and support architectural decisions.

• 📝 Review and contribute to feature designs, ensuring product requirements are clear and actionable.

• 🤝 Partner closely with Product Managers and Designers to influence roadmap and execution strategy.

• 🧲 Support team growth: hire top talent in collaboration with People Ops.

• 🎯 Proven experience in engineering management with a track record of delivering products at scale.

• 💡 Strong technical background (though hands-on coding isn’t required).

• 🔧 Familiarity with key parts of our tech stack is a plus:

  • Tools: GitHub, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Pyroscope

• 🚀 Self-starter mentality with a bias for action and a knack for breaking down complex problems.

💼 Compensation & Benefits

💰 Base Salary Range (US): $178,503 – $214,204
🎁 Equity, performance bonus (if applicable), and a full benefits package included.
