🚨 About the Role

We’re hiring a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Product Safety team—one of the most mission-critical groups at Pinterest. This team builds scalable, reliable systems to protect our users, especially teens, with features like private profiles, user blocking, and other safety mechanisms.

As a senior contributor, you’ll shape the technical direction of safety initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and ensure Pinterest remains a safe and inclusive space for millions worldwide.

🔧 What You’ll Do

• Architect, build, and maintain backend systems for user safety features including private profiles, blocking tools, and content moderation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers to ship high-impact features
• Guide and mentor junior engineers; foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning
• Lead technical discussions, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to the product roadmap
• Ensure systems are scalable, performant, and resilient under load

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on backend systems
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and system design principles
• Hands-on experience with frontend development (React, Angular, or similar)
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code at scale
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)

🏢 Workplace Expectations

• This role is remote-first, with 1–2 in-person meetups per quarter
• Role can be based anywhere within Mexico—no relocation assistance is offered
