Position Summary:

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Google Photos team, a highly sought-after product at Google. As a software engineer, you will work on a critical project, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions in photo sharing, storage, and machine intelligence. This role requires expertise in both client-side (web/mobile) and server-side (search, storage, serving) development, with opportunities for career growth across multiple teams and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write product or system development code.
• Lead or participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate available technologies.
• Review code developed by other engineers, providing feedback to ensure best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation or educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.
• Debug and resolve product or system issues, analyzing their impact on hardware, networks, or service operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience working with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with Java/C++, large-scale systems data analysis, performance, visualization tools, or debugging.
• Experience in code and system health, diagnosis, software test engineering, and developing accessible technologies.
