Role Responsibilities
Join the Data Centre of Excellence as a Data Analytics Developer, where you’ll be pivotal in optimizing data models and building data pipelines that drive business success. Your focus will be on refining data systems and enhancing pipeline architecture, working closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure high standards of data delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and maintaining data pipelines to support business data products.
  • Analyzing and organizing raw data for predictive and prescriptive modeling, and building algorithms to deliver business value.
  • Evaluating business needs and enhancing data quality.
  • Monitoring pipeline operations and collaborating on complex data analysis.
  • Mentoring team members and fostering a client-centric, innovative approach.
  • Supporting senior management in driving a cultural shift toward data as a strategic asset.

Skills & Qualifications
Required:

  • A related university degree (e.g., Computer Science, Business) with at least four (4) years of related experience.
  • Industry experience with data tools and platforms.
  • Experience with building and optimizing ETL pipelines.

Assets:

  • Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, DBT).
  • Experience with data tools and platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, Hadoop, Databricks, Azure Synapse).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and SQL.
  • Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SAS).

Equivalencies:

  • A two-year diploma and six (6) years of related experience, or
  • A one-year certificate and seven (7) years of related experience.

Additional Information

  • This is a permanent, full-time position with standard weekly hours (8:15 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
  • While this role is eligible for remote work, candidates must reside in Alberta.
  • Occasional in-person meetings in Edmonton may be required.
