💼 Role Overview

As a Linux Client Platform Engineer within the Workplace Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering world-class Linux Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our growing AWS Workspaces-based virtual desktop environment, collaborating with Atlassian engineers to ensure optimal system performance and security.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Linux VDI Design & Implementation: Lead the design and deployment of Linux VDI solutions in AWS Workspaces while ensuring high performance and security standards.
• System Administration: Administer and troubleshoot RHEL-based Linux endpoints, ensuring smooth operation and resolving complex issues.
• Scripting & Automation: Utilize scripting languages for Linux and AWS automation to streamline system management and operations.
• Cross-Platform Support: Provide technical expertise on managing macOS and Windows endpoints, integrating them into the VDI environment.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance policies for Linux and Windows VDI environments, especially in regulated industries.
• Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation of VDI configurations and procedures, providing training and knowledge transfer to team members.
• Technical Support: Deliver expert-level support to Atlassian engineers, building strong client relationships through efficient issue resolution.

🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in RHEL-based Linux endpoint administration and troubleshooting.
• 2 years of experience with scripting languages for Linux and AWS automation.
• 2 years working with macOS and Windows endpoint management technologies.
• Strong experience troubleshooting complex issues in virtualization and VDI environments.
• Expertise in implementing security and compliance best practices in Linux and Windows VDI environments.
• Proven ability to document VDI configurations and procedures while providing effective knowledge transfer.
• Strong aptitude for building relationships by offering excellent technical support and guidance.

🎯 Desired Skills

• Experience with AWS Workspaces (design, deployment, scalability, performance).
• Familiarity with working on information security, compliance, and audit matters, especially with FedRAMP requirements.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud networking issues.
• Proficiency with identity access platforms like Okta.

💰 Compensation & Benefits

At Atlassian, we are committed to designing competitive and transparent compensation programs. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:

• Zone A: $176,200 – $235,000
• Zone B: $158,600 – $211,500
• Zone C: $146,300 – $195,000
