About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager with expertise in 3D modeling, graphics applications, and software craftsmanship to lead our team of 3D software engineers. This team develops 3D design software and viewers that enhance both internal and external customer experiences. Your leadership will be pivotal in achieving our product roadmap and transforming high-stakes research into production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing CAD/3D engineering applications team, fostering engagement and retention.
✅ Define priorities and coordinate execution to meet project milestones efficiently.
✅ Collaborate with technical program directors and cross-functional teams.
✅ Advocate for high-quality, performant, and scalable code.
✅ Integrate 3D tools into various products and teams across Dandy.
✅ Review engineering proposals and provide constructive feedback.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

🔹 4+ years of experience managing software teams and driving successful product outcomes.
🔹 4+ years of hands-on experience in 3D/CAD/CAM or robotic automation software (8+ years total in software engineering).
🔹 Strong product mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
🔹 Experience developing user-facing applications with common GUI principles.
🔹 Proficiency in object-oriented design principles.
🔹 Expertise in cross-platform development (web, server, and desktop applications).
🔹 Proven ability to recruit, interview, and onboard top engineering talent.
🔹 Exceptional communication and attention to detail.
🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
🔹 Strong debugging, profiling, and testing skills for complex systems.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have!)

✨ Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript development.
✨ Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
✨ Background in 3D modeling algorithms and computational geometry.
✨ Previous work in cross-functional development teams.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary Range: $200K – $250K (includes equity & bonus).
